LA, The City of Angels, LaLaland better known as Los Angeles! My fave American city after New York and San Francisco. Nothing is what it seems in the city where all the magic happens. Many aspiring actors move to LA each year hoping for that big break. Only to move back home with a suitcase full of dreams. Or they stay in LA and become an actor/waiter/yoga instructor/dog walker. Getting botox in your lunch break or therapy for your cat? That’s so LA, and I love hanging out here. Check out my photo diary!
A healthy start with a Green Power special and a shot of Noni juice. Very Hollywood to get an organic juice here after you
r killer workout. Liquid Juice bar, 8180 Melrose Avenue.
Every sunday between 9 am and 5 pm there’s a fleamarket on the Fairfax high school parking lot. You can find everything from seventies T-shirts to small antique goods. Even the blog queen Chiara Ferragni from The Blonde Salad, has been spotted here. 7850 Melrose Avenue.
The Original Farmers Market, since 1934 with many little souvenir shops and restaurants. And lots of tourists so keep on moving!
From the Farmers Market it’s only a short walk to The Grove Mall. A great mall with all the well known brand shops like Abercrombie and Fitch, Apple, Forever 21 and Zara. And after all that shopping treat yourself at The Cheescake factory. 189 The Grove Drive.
Want to spot some celebs? Make a reservation at The Ivy restaurant and have a very long lunch. Dresscode, smart casual. 113N Robertson Boulevard.
Stopping by at Kitson. A cool store with sporty chic clothing and funny books and gifts. The Kardashians shop here too. 144 N Robertson Boulevard.
For your mini-me fashionista, ‘This Little Piggy went to Prada’.
One of the many talented street performers on The Hollywood Walk of fame, a Harlem Globetrotter.
To do list:
-rent a bike on Venice, Long or Redondo Beach and feel like a real California girl! (Or boy)
-a guaranteed chance to see celebrities. Visit the Universal Studio’s where they tape the entertainment show ‘Extra’. Famous guests are being interviewed from monday to friday between 10 am and 4 pm.
-nobody walks in LA! So go rent that convertible..
-the best view of the Hollywood sign? Type ‘Mt Lee drive’ on your navigation.
-visit San Diego (which is acually prettier than LA) and ofcourse Las Vegas for the ultimate Hangover.
-nightlife? Supperclub, The Avalon, Sol and make sure you’re on the guest list.
-budget shopping? Outlet stores Ross (dress for less) and Marshalls for last seasons apparel. (and bring lots of patience) CVS and Wallgreens are great to get all your beauty products. However you can get the same products at Target or Wallmart for a lower price. Just outside of the city you’ll find outlet malls like Citadel Outlets.
-for some ‘break-your-bank’ shopping visit Rodeo Drive, Beverly Center and Robertson Boulevard.
Bye LA, love you…mean it!
