BONJOUR BROOKLYN

Can you spot the Empire state building?

With property and rent prices skyrocketing in Manhattan, Young Urban Professionals are massively relocating to different New York areas. Being a no go area before (remember Miranda’s rant on Sex and The City?), Brooklyn is now hotter than ever. Neighbourhoods like Williamsburg and Bushwick are now the it-places to live and to hang out. Lets take a look at hipster town Williamsburg, dresscode women, low cut tank tops with a lace bra and old All Stars,  men: a beard and a dog.

How to get there. Take the L-train from Manhattan to Brooklyn and get out at Bedford station.

Welcome to Williamsburg. A trendy neighbourhood with numerous thrift stores, bars, bistro’s, cool coffee places and vintage boutiques. Spotted, vintage Scandinavian cool at Malin’s. 157 N 6th street. (Between Bedford and Driggs Ave.)

Where to stay. Definitely at the Wythe hotel. Get the Manhattan View King room for a picture perfect view of the Manhattan skyline. And Instagram the crap out of it!  80 Wythe Ave at N 11th street.

Not to be missed by vintage lovers like yours truly. Beacon’s Closet. A  clean, spacious and well organized store with affordable vintage items from Chanel, LaCroix (darling) and Sonia Rykiel. 74 Guernsey street.

Another cool must visit area. Dumbo, which stands for Down Under the Manhattan Bridge Overpass. Known for it’s beautiful old warehouses, the famous Grimaldi’s pizzeria and home to the Humphrey’s on Gossip Girl. For this famous shot of the Manhattan bridge, (you can even see the Empire State Building trough the feet of the bridge) go to Washington street.

Bye Brooklyn, can’t wait to see you again..
