MY WEEK IN FASHION

Last week it was all about fashion in our little capital city. It was time again for the Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Amsterdam. Many Dutch designers were showing their AW15/16 collections and I got to see a couple of shows. I heart fashion shows! I love the energy and excitement that comes with a show and everything around it. Will a show go smoothly or will some model do a Naomi and wipe out? But of course it’s all about the collections. What to wear next season? I also attended a fair during fashion week called de ModeFabriek (the fashion factory) where brands show and retailers buy new collections. But you can also spot next seasons trends. All and all it’s been a busy week. Take a look at my week in fashion!

Tony Cohen‘s show. Stunning model Kim Feenstra got to open the show and strutted her stuff while the crowd went wild and started applauding as soon as she appeared on the runway. Both women’s and menswear were shown so enough inspo for the boyfriend. I.want.the.red.bigbird.coat!

Smart presents Spijkers en Spijkers. Another amazing collection by twin sisters Truus and Riet Spijkers! Can’t wait to get my hands on the shoes and maxi dresses!

Bas Kosters: fashion meets spirituality. This collection was about the awareness and importance of recycling and consuming less. For this collection the designer used pieces of fabrics from previous collections. Note: during the entire show he was meditating upon a rotating pole. After the colorful finale full of monsters and Bugaboo’s the designer was escorted down from his meditation pole to join his Hare Krishna friends and accepted the applause while the catwalk got filled with confetti and incense. I had a very bizar dream after this show..!

Fashion week: rubbing shoulders with celebs and (net)working in between shows. What fashion people drink: Coconut water, Scroppino’s and Little Miracle Organic Green Tea.

De ModeFabriek fair: where brands and retailers sell and buy new collections. But also where to spot upcoming trends. Trending topic during this fair: how to get green, sustainable and eco friendly more fashionable.

That’s all folks!
